hello....i also have the same problems...tried about a week until now still cannot install ubuntu server on the IBM x3650 m3 server.....i found the critical update at the IBM site....but dont All of these cards show drives perfectly fine during Windows 2012 R1 setup, Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2008 R1 and even Windows Server 2003. The original driver was seperate from the Megaraid driver (PERCSAS2). They've basically rewritten the driver for newer devices and left the PCI_VEN&1000_DEV00073 strings for the PERC 3x family in there.

Not diagnosed this one. The new system will not boot into grub event though it install correctly. LSI has released drivers for 10.04 and bug #546091 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/546091) is making progress. I know for a fact our server was never Kernel Updated, but since it is in the datacenter, and we only use it internally we do not worry much about updating I've also tried installing R1 and then doing an upgrade in place to R2.
