Look for the DSA tool supported by your particular system. I've solved this problem by first installing windows 2003 r2 via IBM's ServerGuide and then did an inplace upgrade to 2008 R2.

thanks! It works well now. That may not have been a result of the driver itself as it could have been the lack of cache memory for the array.
I reformatted them and they are designated as being "HEALTHY" "ACTIVE" and "ON LINE" by the 345's disk management. But I have found a Solution for these Controllers that aslo works. This is the accepted answer. EDIT: well i tried it. Do the bear minimum but IIRC, you have to install SP4 for the Windows 2008 Server setup installer to run. They went so far as to state: "There will be no support for x64 Editions of Vista or Server 2008." The only pitfall I can see, which is why I am on the web now looking for information, is there appears to be no 2008 software for notifying events etc. (so When I attempt to install the R2 driver from Adaptec, it then gives me some bogus "Use the Load Drivers Option to Load Signed Drivers blah blah" and states the driver Good luck.
