I would think it's a driver compatibility issue rather than something actually failed, but the DSA tool for this system is at the following: IBM Dynamic System Analysis (DSA) version 3.10 http://wirelessint.com/ibm-xseries/ibm-xseries-226-drivers-download.php
The installation started for W2008 R2 64bit. Look for the DSA tool supported by your particular system. To get the latest version of the requested update simply download and run Driver Reviver. Do the bear minimum but IIRC, you have to install SP4 for the Windows 2008 Server setup installer to run. My workaround for this, which may help some of you trying to do this, is to install a supported Operating System first e.g. So, on IBM's support site (Had to dig around quite abit to get to this).

At any rate it is a solution if you want to stick with the Adaptec controller.

Grand experiment you're undertaking... 346 doesn't support 2008 R2 so you'll always encounter challenges with drivers let alone certain management apps needed in Windows. Starting from scratch on this 346. Links to the drivers can be found here : http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-61617 http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-62264 Regards, Saturday, September 20, 2014 12:54 PM Reply | Quote Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion http://wirelessint.com/ibm-xseries/ibm-xseries-445-drivers-download.php these drivers worked perfectly Tuesday, March 23, 2010 3:05 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Thank you Mart.

I came across this tread when I had Issues installing Windows Server 2012 on one of these servers. Maybe trying to inject a 2008 64-bit or 2008 R2 one would help, if there is one for whatever controller you have.
