Error messages include "asynchronous mode", and going down to 160 speed and what not. Hi @all, yesterday i got my new x346 Server and installed all necessary Drivers, excepting the ServeRaid Driver because, there is no x64 Driver for the 7k controller. After a few days of fiddling with the ServerGuide and the ServeRaid stuff, the Windows CD worked fine WITHOUT having to copy any driver files. At any rate it is a solution if you want to stick with the Adaptec controller. this content

Do the bear minimum but IIRC, you have to install SP4 for the Windows 2008 Server setup installer to run. Thanks for taking a look. Is there any supported solution for the 8840D1Y that supports the internal drives under W2k3 x64? I have installed ESX 2.5.2 on an IBM x346.

SCSI and RAID Controllers You need another RAID controller for Win2003 x64. I e-mailed them with the description unfortunately I got the reply with a phone number to make the phone call. This is my experience with the x346 and other old IBM systems. You might also need other bits (like .NET 2.0 or something) but I can't remember what - it tells you what it needs.

Not sure what to do this is my first time working with ibm servers these where given to me by work to setup a home sandbox and use for educational purposes. If you can boot off of cdrom you could use something like BartPE to boot the system (this is a maintenance tool). It's technically supported, but not recommended.

My colleague Luka Gros spend finds x64 driver for Adaptec SCSI controller. The linux driver seems to find out that they are running 320Mb/s, but then when trying to mount the drives it goes into a frenzy, not being able to go into I'd previously used it as a temporary Exchange server to migrate from one which was about to die.
