They discontinued the more elaborate ScrollPoint III Pro Model 31P8700 (as pictured above) in 2009, presumably due to the cost of manufacture and little demand. I am not sure if the sensor will pick it up, but it should; and if it does, you'll have a more intuitive mouse able to hit more surface variations. F. It actually took a very diverse group of people to come up with all of those great features: not a bunch of bankrupt clowns in lenovo china. Found it and using it at the moment. Ibm Wireless Mouse Not all ScrollPoint IIIs behave in the same manner for optical tracking. I've seen a lot of IBM motherboards float around on ebay.
